Adoption Update {Q & A style}

I've been getting a lot of questions lately

regarding our adoption status.

Bottom Line:

We are officially on file with LifeChoices

and could get a call any day with a match.

Or it could be a year or two before we're matched.

There is no set timeline, so we're just in waiting mode.

For those of you who want more details than the above,

here are the answers to some questions I've been getting lately:

Q: When will you get a baby?

A: We really have no idea.

It could be a matter of weeks. It could be several years.

Our profile will be chosen by the birth parents,

so we're just waiting for someone to choose life for their child,

and choose us to be that child's forever family!

Q: How much notice will you have before you go pickup the baby?

A: We really don't know this either.

It will all depend on how far along the birthmother is in her pregnancy when she chooses us.

We could have several months or several days.

Q: How old will the baby be?

A: The baby will probably be 14 days old when he/she become legally ours.

This could be a little different if we run into legal issues.

Q: Will you get to name your child?

A: Definitely. As soon as the baby is placed with us,

we can give him/her whatever name we want to.

Q: Where will the baby be from?

A: The baby will be from Memphis, TN.

Q: What will the baby's race be?

A: We don't know this either.

We are open to any race.

Q: Have you chosen a gender?

A: No. We're open to whatever child God places in our family.

Q: Do you have any t-shirts left?

A: YES! Let us know if you want one!

As you can tell, there is a lot that we don't know.

Most of this is out of our hands now

because we wait to be chosen by birthparents.

This is actually really freeing to me.

God is always in sovereign control

and He will choose the right baby for our family at just the right time.
